SUBMOA 2 day advanced vehicle dynamics training course with physical stressors, will introduce to the student shooting both a rifle and pistol in and around vehicles.  This course will add a physical stress element to include sand bags, kettle bells, dummy drags and other physically challenging obstacles. The deployment of both platforms as well as movement to and from a vehicle will be emphasized. Additionally, advanced skills, which challenge the shooter’s ability with both practical and real world applications, will be introduced. This class is NOT an introductory level course. The student must have advanced pistol and rifle proficiencies to include intimate familiarization with the functioning of both rifle and pistol as well as an understanding of how to safely run both during drills that include movement.  Lastly, because of the added physical element prospective students should be in such condition that the added physical stressors do not pose an inherent medical risk.

Equipment requirements- 500 rounds of duty grade rifle and 500 rounds duty grade pistol ammunition, duty grade rifle/pistol, minimum 4 magazines of both rifle and pistol, duty grade holster, rifle sling, 2 spare magazine pouches for both rifle and pistol, eye and ear protection, ballistic rifle grade body armor preferred.

SUBMOA 2 day advanced pistol and rifle training course will take the student to a new level of proficiency with an emphasis on accuracy above all else. Basic marksmanship skills fundamental to any shooting platform will be stressed. Additionally, advanced skills that challenge the shooter’s ability with both practical and real world applications will be introduced. This class is NOT an introductory level course. The student must have basic pistol and rifle proficiencies to include intimate familiarization with the functioning of the pistol and rifle as well as an understanding of how to safely run a pistol and rifle during drills which include movement, transitions, strong and support hand shooting, advanced position shooting and will include physical stressors.

Equipment requirements- 500 rounds of both duty grade pistol and rifle ammunition, duty grade pistol, duty grade rifle with red dot, minimum 4 pistol and rifle magazines, duty grade holster, 2 spare magazine pouches for both pistol and rifle, eye and ear protection, shooting mat optional

PRECISION RIFLE III

This course will take the precision shooter to the next level and is intended for those who have taken a basic or intermediate level precision course. Students will focus on the fundamentals of precision long range shooting out to greater distances.  The course will provide the requisite skill set essential to the long-range marksman at distances out to 1760 yards.

The course will cover topics such as establishing a shooting platform, advanced ballistics, reading wind direction and advanced wind corrections, angled shooting, environmental concerns and calculations, introduction to observational skills, camouflage and concealment, hide selection, intro to movement and stalking, ghillie suit selection and preparation, weapon and ammunition selection, weapons and equipment camouflaging, weapon cleaning and maintenance.

 

The course will focus on shooting between 100-1760 yards.

 

Course  requirements: bolt action or semi auto rifle capable of shooting  MOA (minute of angle groups), high quality scope at least 15x power, quality scope mount capable of being torqued, quality high powered spotting scope *optional but highly recommended,  Kestrel  or other quality weather meter *optional but highly recommended, 250 rounds minimum of match grade ammunition, rifle sling, bipod or shooting bag, additional sand bags, notebook, eye/ear protection and proper range attire, shooting mat *optional but preferred, pre-made ghillie suit with boonie hat/face veil or BDUs and material for attaching camouflage cloth, camouflage face paint.

 

*If student is interested in camouflaging their personal rifle as part of one of the training blocks, please bring spray paint and camouflage netting.

The paint needed is Brownells Aluma-Hyde. Colors needed- magpul FDE, matte OD green, matte earth brown, matte coyote brown, matte desert tan

 

On-site lodging is available for $40.00/night or hotels are within 20 minutes of the range

The course will focus on shooting between 100-1500 yards.

This course will introduce the fundamentals of competitive shooting to those new to the discipline. As in all SUBMOA courses accuracy will be the emphasis above all else. This course will introduce a level of speed shooting not common to other courses. The course will begin with the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship and progress quickly into the elements essentials for competitive shooting, mainly I.D.P.A. There will be several competitive stages (scenarios), set up for students to experience and test their newly acquired skill set, which are identical to those in an actual competition.

SUBMOA 2 day intro to pistol and rifle training course will introduce the new or intermediate shooter to the fundamentals of pistol and rifle marksmanship. This course will focus on accuracy above all else. The goal of the course will be to dramatically increase the shooter's skill set by applying the practical fundamentals of marksmanship and weapons manipulation.
